TabernacleAtlanta, USASeptember 14, 1998 the show was the best experience I have ever had. when I think about it it makes me sad. JcJ (ZJCJ.edu) johnson city, TN US - Monday, September 28, 1998 at 13:05:41 (EDT) After months of buildup, FINALLY the night arrived...and it was perhaps the BEST show I've ever been to. Not too over the top as most bands would do on a show of this scale, they just played their songs, nothing too fancy, and truly rocked the Tabernacle like only Bauhaus can. Side note: I could kill my girlfriend for this...The DJ where she works knows the band PERSONALLY and she didn't think to hook us up with them. Apparently they hung out with him later that night...and we COULD HAVE BEEN THERE! Oh well, I did see the show, and that's truly enough for me... Too rye ay (toorayay@aol.com) Atlanta, ga usa - Monday, September 21, 1998 at 04:28:20 (EDT) i went to the fri night nyc show and the mon night atlanta show. both were awesome for different reasons. the boys were definitely ON for the nyc show, but the audience wasn't, quite the opposite for the atlanta show. sound was definitely better at the nyc show, i could have sworn i was listening to a recording-nice, crisp sound, not to mention peter's perfect, unwavering voice. maybe because the atlanta audience was much more responsive, they played telegram sam and spirit AFTER bela - a way of saying thanks, perhaps-resulting in a 5 song encore. both shows were definitely worth the 1,500 miles i drove to see them. kjsgf (dewdrop@hotmail.com) - Sunday, September 20, 1998 at 18:28:32 (EDT) I, too keep replaying the concert in my mind.It has to have been the best live show I've ever attended. I was afraid that some of the songs would lose their impact live, but I was quite wrong. The Tabernacle actually shook as the audience (the most moved group of people I've ever seen) begged for more. After the show a group of fans (about 30) clustered near the equipment truck, waiting for a glimpse of the band. I waited for an hour, and then decided to give up. I walked around the other side of the building where a large grey van was parked, and at that instant, Daniel Ash, David Jay, and Kevin Haskins walked quickly out to the van. There were probably five of us that had not walked out with them. They got in the van, but did not close the door. Not wanting to be too fanatical, I just waited there, hoping they would respond to us. They then said they would sign some autographs, and I was the first up there. I did't have a pen, but Kevin was kind enough to get one for me. Three of them signed my shirt(on the white face)and a promotion card for "Crackle".I was a little less "cool"in the midst of those I admired than I would have liked to be. Now I need to find a tour shirt that I can wear! But if you haven't seen them yet make every effort to, it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me. Morgan (Wilson_8784@rscc.cc.tn.us)< br> tn . - Saturday, September 19, 1998 at 14:28:33 (EDT) What a phenomenal show!!! Having seen Peter solo & Love & Rockets, I knew it was going to be quite a performance & it exceeded my expectations!! I just wish they'd play Nashville so I could see them again. The Tabernacle was perfect! It's a cool venue & the sloped floor was great. The crowd was awesome too. Can't wait for the live CD & hopefully video. There will be a live Internet broadcast on Sept. 28 & 29 at 9 PM (ET) at www.sonicnet.com. Sally (ben.worsham@nashville.com)< br> Nashville, TN USA - Thursday, September 17, 1998 at 21:40:05 (EDT) Bauhaus are back, in all their splendor. A truly AMAZING show. 4 encores - unbelievable. As Daniel Ash gestured, prepare for another chapter in the Bauhaus epic. Steve Taylor (Thrncatchr@aol.com) New Smyrna, FL - Thursday, September 17, 1998 at 18:38:34 (EDT) Phenomenal, really. I don't think anyone has adequately described the venue -- a converted three-tiered church; if you were on the floor you had three floors of open air above you and somehow they got amazing acoustics out of that. Probably the best live music venue I have ever seen in my life. And their set...I can remember when I was younger, after an amazing show I would spend the next few days replaying it in my head; thinking 'my god, I wish that was right now.' I wish last night was right now; I haven't felt so utterly in awe in years. You can read the set-list. It was all played flawlessly and the crowd was incredibly cordial and excited. What a perfect evening. Michael (oink@cae.infi.net) Columbia, SC USA - Tuesday, September 15, 1998 at 21:49:47 (EDT) I agree with Todd... the crowd fueled the band, the band responded, and it was MAJOR! The section I was in was calm during play only because they were in awe. Czar Fnord Raleigh, NC USA - Tuesday, September 15, 1998 at 21:44:09 (EDT) Monday night was an amazing show, twice as good as Sunday...which I thought was quite good musically The crowd on Sunday was a bit too mellow, but Monday night was very responsive. A few fights nearly broke out but everyone kept their heads down front. The bands decision to close with Telegram Sam on Monday was a good idea...Bela Lugosi is actually a horrible song to end a show with. Things ran smooth, lots of dancing and "yes" the band did claim that Mondays show was one of the best thus far... hope this will lead to more from them in the future. Todd (film23@aol.com) Athens, GA USA - Tuesday, September 15, 1998 at 19:20:37 (EDT) I really don't know why the last person to comment said that the crowd was lacking in any way. To me, the crowd was perfect: loud and rowdy at the end of songs, but respectful enough to shut up once the band started playing. Also, if the crowd was so lacking, then why did the Bauhaus treat us to four encores? All I can really say is "fuckin' amazing"....Lucifer Morningstar... Lucifer Morningstar (lucistar@hotmail.com) Columbia, SC usa - Tuesday, September 15, 1998 at 13:08:41 (EDT) The show was fabulous, but the crowd's responce was laconic. I personaly felt bad for the band. Why their amazing preformace recieved such a weak responce was beyond me. JcJ johnson city, tn US - Tuesday, September 15, 1998 at 10:59:17 (EDT) Incredible!!!! Definitely one of the best shows I have ever seen. The venue was incredible for a Bauhaus concert-the converted church was almost too perfect. It is hard to believe that a band that hasn't played together in 15 years could sound so good & have so much energy. Peter is the master showman; from opening with his black & white distorted image on the monitor during "Double Dare", to the on-stage wardrobe changes, to the light bulb dance during "Hollow Hills" & many other moments he proved his mentor Mr. Bowie proud! Peter seemed to really gel with the Atlanta crowd & even said during the 1st encore that it was one of the best "crowds" of the tour. The crowd although very enthusiastic was not overbearing; people were dancing, pogoing, and swaying with respect to those around them. The energy was particularly high during "Dark Entries" with the masses gyrating in unison when Peter bellowed "...oh please Miss Lane, leave me with some pain." It was really great to see such a union of time-lines(from the old folks like me who were actually alive when the band originally played to the new goth faction) come together for the one purpose of seeing the "Boys" ina ll their splendor!! If you haven't seen them yet, GO at all cost!!!! Steven C. (Spchevalier@rocketmail.com) Greenville, SC USA - Tuesday, September 15, 1998 at 10:27:35 (EDT) Kick-ass show... not quite as good as the one we went to see Friday night in NYC... they were obviously a bit tired yet put on a truly heroic effort! Peter mentioned that this was the 23rd show and thanked the crowd for encouraging the band to keep maintaining the energy level of the performances. Three encores. Onstage panty-flinging during "Boys." Hannah Aki (queenvolcano@hotmail.com) Atlanta, GA USA - Tuesday, September 15, 1998 at 09:42:08 (EDT) If anyone has or knows of 2 tickets for this show please e-mail me. Thank You. BYRON (DJ-CERAMICS@prodigy.net) ATL, GA USA - Friday, July 24, 1998 at 00:38:32 (EDT) Okay everyone, true to my word I found out all the info I could about the Atlanta show. Here goes: They are playing at the 'Tabernacle', which is an old church. Makes me wonder if it is anything like the 'Limelight' in NYC. Anyway, the Tabernacle is located at 152 Luckie St. NW, and their phone number is (404) 659-9022. Tickets for this show go on sale THIS SATURDAY, which is JULY 25th. Tickets are $29.50, and are available through Ticketmaster, who's number for the area is (404) 249-6400. I do not know if the venue is general addmission or not. We'll see. Well, I've been looking forward to seeing the Bauhaus for over eight years, now I have the chance. Lets just hope that I get through to Ticketmaster, right?
