I have discovered Bauhaus before discovering my youth ! today, I felle the same when I hear them and their concert was probably one of the best i have ever seen before ! thanks ! Show sould go on ! Sébastien Dalla Valle (sdv@laj.be) MONS, BELGIUM - Friday, August 30, 2002 at 09:11:38 (EDT) It couldn't be more perfect. It was my birthday and Bauhaus, a group that I picked up around 1991 and which was already deceased ten years at the time was going to play in Deinze. The concert was brilliant although I remember that they were very late on stage. Wait wait wait. But I never thought I would see them play live in my entire life !!! Do that again please ! Frank Pauwels Lier, Belgium - Thursday, May 10, 2001 at 10:43:00 (EDT) I've been became a Bauhaus-fan after hearing the 'In the flat field' album some 12 years ago. Seeing Bauhaus live for the first time in Deinze was...pure XTC - devine in all it scences. I would not have mind dropping dead afterwards. Thanks Bauhaus Steven Vanden Broucke (Lorddraahk@yahoo.com) Blankenberge, Belgium - Tuesday, August 22, 2000 at 09:30:30 (EDT) For those who like the photos on this page, I made a web page devoted to BAUHAUS 1998 gig in Deinze, Belgium, on november 3. On this site, you can find 35 photos made by myself at this gig. http://club.euronet.be/marcel.melin/bauhaus/ Marcel MELIN is an old BAUHAUS fan, gig promoter ("Concert-Promotion asbl") and freelance photographer. Congratulations Pete, Daniel, Kevin and David for giving us what we've been waiting for 15 years long. The retro feeling was perfectly supported by the musical genius of all band members. All we ever wanted was a gig like this and we got it! Back in the 80's we were sad we wouldn't see Bauhaus perform, now - after the concert - I believe that the 'impossible' CAN happen. Carry on Bauhaus, keep up that spirit and maybe see you later... The Unholy Man (Soulblade90210@hotmail.com) Ghent, Belgium - Sunday, November 08, 1998 at 14:52:14 (EST) We were first to arrive, hence we were able to pick out any spot in the frontrow-alley. Standing inbetween two spots where later on Peter Murphy and Daniel Ash would perform there longawaited showpiece, a freelance photographer told us that Bauhaus hadn't arrived yet; the hour was 20:45 But lets be hounest, who'd care about waiting for something he'd already awaited for that many years. I for a fact saw my patience entirely awarded when the curtain disappeared and first thing I saw was the "disembodied" head of Peter surrounded by the others. The few things I remember most are formost the happiness I felt watching them so upclose and personal, and secondly the slight sensuous feeling I received by hearing the gliding tones of Daniel's guitar(nothing homo-erotic about that, my friends, Ahum). Being fully awear that this was a UNIQUE concert, I enjoyed every second of it. By the way, I like to greet my friend Bram Bernolet whose comment you can read above. I wiil never forget this one! There are no words to dicribe the feeling I got when old Pete, Daniel, Kevin & David came on stage. I was nervous as hell, but the feeling disappeared after the first note. The TV-screen was cool. It was like a button being switched in my head. No brains, just Bauhaus and me. The only thing I can say: Bauhaus is after 15 years still the best goth-band in the world. Pity Bauhaus didn't play Stigmata Martyr. But Bauhaus can play for hours because they never released a bad record or song. Nevertheless Goth-Undead. I also want to advise some concertvisitors to shut up singing along. Surely when you got the lyrics wrong. A song like "all we ever wanted was everything" was spoiled (for me) because a ugly looking girl was singing along (loudly-in my ear) and she had the lyrics all wrong. Albi Voombastic (albi_25@hotmail) antwerp, belguim - Friday, November 06, 1998 at 07:18:27 (EST) I've never been that close to them as I was yesterday, standing in the front row, nearly one meter from Daniel Ash's feet.Everyone in the Brielpoort forgives'em for being more than an hour late. Now that i've waited for 15 years, I tought i could wait for one hour more. They were deliciously brilliant. And afterwards, I felt like i dreamt for 2 hours. And just like Daniel Ash said in 'Het Nieuwsblad': The crowd was filled with stupid goth freaks,' all suffering from the most horrible psychological pains'.(stoemme trutte!)Those people mostly ruďn my appetite, just like they did at this year's new wave top100 in 'Follies' . The way they act( or just 'being') reminds me of my puberty. But.., I feel that i chare some comment with bauhaus, that it's all about having fun in their ironic style. So i stay satisfied, and hope that maybe in the year 2013 they will come and visit this retarded country again . And if they do , I hope they've found an other PA-guy, so that you could actually hear Mr Haskins brushes-drum during ' all we ever wanted....' ,and of course Jay-man's Bass a little bit louder during the whole concert. "Thank you, goodnight!" Abraham Bernolet (hugo.bernolet@ping.be) Antwerp, Belgium - Wednesday, November 04, 1998 at 07:28:41 (EST) Very very very strange ... during 2 hours I felt 15 years younger. I think the truth was in there! Hans Rooselaer (hro@geocities.com) Huizingen, Belgium - Wednesday, November 04, 1998 at 03:47:51 (EST) Got a tape of your Bauhaus' concert? Do you want a CD of it?
