I've been a fan scince the 80's and This was the first time I've been able to see Bauhaus and it was everything I thought it would be!!!! They even played Stygmata Martyr! They didnt play spy for those who were wondering but pete sighned someones album and Kevin threw about 8 or 10 drum sticks into the audience. Danny threw his jacket and pete made a paper airplane and chucked it out to the fans. They were so energetic! Even when the mic went out during" in the flat fields" Pete just kept on singing tell the song was through. Then about 5 mins later once the mic was fixed they played the song agin for us! Thanks Bauhaus for a very memerable evening! Thanks to" kicked in the eye" for making the long wait outside in the front of the line more bearable! The stories of concerts gon bye were great! Danny if your reading, I would love to know how your able to get some of the sounds out of that guitar that your able to get! You trully are one of the greats! |

Great show. About four rows from the front (there were three people between me and the stage). Nothing signed, but a very friendly Kevin spoke to us a while. I know a loyal fan (who does indeed play guitar) did get a chance to chat with Daniel (she was standing by me all night until after the show I'll pay for staying out this late with work in the morning. There are not many (make that any) other shows I'd do that for at this point. Nice meeting Strangelets and company. Is it supposed to be so cold in SD? Oh yeah it's winter (no I wasn't cold, although it seems everyone else was). - Greg |

Thank you, Bauhaus!!! The 4th&B show was incredible! After reading many posts regarding the band's lack of energy during much of the tour, I was a little worried that SD might have more of the same... but wow. The crowd was enthusiastic, the band perfect, and aside from the vocals going out during In the Flat Field (but even that made for an interesting scene), I'd say this show was almost comparable to the '98 tour. I was surprised when Danny Ash threw his hat, jacket and balled-up set list into the crowd. Then Peter plucked up his set list, fashioned a paper airplane out of it, and threw that into the crowd as well. In all that frenzy, I almost thought Danny would throw his guitar into the crowd, too! Question... who was that guy who joined in during Ziggy? |

Yeah, the show was great. I'm really amazed at how Peter Murphy can still belt out this stuff he first sung 20+ years ago. Being a bit older now I can say that's no mean feat. |

The show was AWESOME. Peter blows me away everytime I see him! The whole band was tight as when they were first formed. What showmanship they had when 4 & B's sound went out. (I still hate that place) The encore was so freakin great-I was hoping that they wouldn't play Bela but I understand why they did. The crowd was great also-it's really nice to be at a show that the crowd knows EVERY single song they played. Not just one or two songs. It was cool when the sound went out for "Flat Fields" the crowd started singing the words. Excellent! One of the great shows I have seen this year. Now I just have to wait till May for Ministry.... |

Last night was the BEST of the 9 shows I have seen this year, it is really close with Halloween but I am giving it the edge, maybe just because I am still buzzing with the energy and happiness of last night. That show just blew me away. For all the stories of them not getting along or acting bored or whatever, well I can only say they were all smiling and totally having a great time last night. Daniel hugging Peter and spinning him around, Peter hugging David, them throwing their clothes into the crowd, Daniel saying 2 or 3 times that it was the best audience of the whole tour. It was just everything I could ask for and more. I'll write more later tonight when I get home from work, update the setlists and stuff. It was great meeting Wendy and Richard and gklue and EMG (haha in the loo). |

It was great meeting you, too, Strangelets! And thanks for making me move to the rail when that guy left--my first time right at the front and it was incredible. My brain was vibrating, the bass and kick drum were so loud! What's a little hearing loss, though, when you've had so much fun?! This show was the best of the 7 I've seen on this tour. They've all been beyond amazing, but the last 3 (Anaheim, Ventura, San Diego) were unbelievable, with last night's being beyond phenomenal. They were in really good spirits, even when the PA went out. They had almost finished a blistering performance of Flat Field--with the crowd going totally wild-- when suddenly there were no more vocals . Daniel Ash announced that the PA had gone out and there'd be a little break--they all just took it in stride and were laughing and really good-natured about it. Very quickly, they came back and--wonder of wonders---played Flat Field again! So we got two incredible performances of that song instead of just one. The crowd was great, singing along with almost everything. Peter Murphy just kept putting the microphone out to the crowd for everyone to sing along throughout the show (I think he said something like "A sing along in paradise" at one point). Peter Murphy--wow. His voice is perfect --and, unbelievably, getting better--every time I see him and his energy was amazing last night . He also looks about 15 years younger since shaving off his facial hair. What an incredible looking man. I know Strangelets will fill you all in on what Danny was doing when she has time to post more Thank you, Bauhaus, for such an amazing show last night . |

Yup. yup yup yup. They were on fire, all of them, David was a wild man, he was on his knees at one point and playing his bass on the mic stand and all kinds of crazy stuff, I was half expecting him to do some behind-the-back hendrix moves. I haven't seen him that animated since Love and Rockets, he is usually in his "Mr. Cool" persona for Bauhaus. And Daniel was having so much fun it was irresistably infectious, he was spinning Peter around in some goofy dance and both of them were laughing. I really think if there was any inter-band tension in some of the shows I didn't go to, it has been sorted out now because I was feeling the love coming from up on the stage. Wendy- I am so glad you got that spot on the rail- after your terrible experience at Coachella you deserved to be there and I was ready to fend off anyone who tried to push you off it! None shall pass! One thing I really want to share with people who weren't there- towards the end of the show Daniel kept miming "pray for peace"- he'd do the peace sign with both hands and then praying hands, back and forth between those 2 gestures several times. (until even thickies like me got it) It was a really cool message since we aren't going to be seeing them until next year so for whatever holidays you observe over the next month, it's universal.

Ok here was something that happened after the 4th and B show, I think gklue saw this too, but I don't remember if he came out before or after this happened.. I know that no one here would do anything like this but it was just shocking to see. There was a group of people waiting by the stage door after the show to get things signed or whatever. Most venues don't bother you if you wait there, except to make you stay out of the way of loading the gear on the truck. For your own safety. At 4th and B the security were kind of bullyish, it was annoying. They made the fans line up behind this line and said "as long as you stay behind that line, everyone will be OK" almost like a threat! And the line was so far from the door and the van, there was no way to even say hi to the band or ask them to sign anything. I thought it was so overdone. But THEN, Peter comes out and got in the van and this fucking LUNATIC guy lunged at the van and DOVE through the drivers window to try to get to him! |

wow- what a total lack of respect. I mean get excited and whatnot, but lunging at and throwing yourself into the van? sheesh! It is people like him that ruin things for the rest of us. |
