JULY
31
UPDATE
Several people spotted in the Orange
County Register
(Orange County, California) that "...Also
rumoured to be coming to Irvine Meadows is a Sept.
25 Bauhaus show, perhaps as a finale to the
reunited band's minitour of the States."This
date would be the the last show on the North
American tour. Apparently Irvine Meadows holds
14,000 people, so I think having a show there would
be highly unlikely, considering Bauhaus has been
playing mid-sized venues of 3,000-4,000 capacity.
Los Angeles or its surroundings is still a
possibility for a finale show
though.
JULY
31 We're
in for a lull until the first Seattle
show, but Steven Holland sent in an advert for the
Orlando
show ticket promotion last night, which you can
find on that page. They also were handing out
promotional stickers for Crackle,
which you can see here.
Shannymonster also checked with the Hard Rock Hotel
security to see what their rules are for the
Joint
show.
Over
the weekend, we'll be putting up more pictures from
the LA shows, so check back then.
JULY
30 There
will be another limited ticket sale (100 tickets)
for the St.
Petersburg
show. This time it will take place at The Castle in
Tampa at midnight July 31st. The rest of the
tickets will go on sale as usual at Ticketmaster
August 1st.
JULY
29 Not
much in the way of news other than Houston
ticket sales have changed from the 1st of August to
the 8th and the Mesa
show from August 1 to July 31. As a reminder,
all Florida shows go on sale August 1, as
well as Rochester.
Tickets for Dallas
is still on sale August 7th, as far as I
know.
JULY
28
UPDATE
When
I said limited, I meant limited! There will be only
200 tickets sold at the Sapphire Supper Club on
July 30 for the Orlando
show.
We
only have one more date left to be scheduled for
the North American tour, then it's off to
Europe!
JULY
28 Apologies
for the Peter-centric news as of late, but both
MTV
and Muzic.com
have reported that the new songs off of Recall
features a remixed version of "Indigo Eyes" and
"Roll Call" which will be "Roll Call-Recall" and
two new songs named "Surrendered" which has Peter's
Arabic teacher Shengul singing on it, and "Big Love
of a Tiny Fool" - an autobiographical song. All of
these songs have both Turkish and electronica
influences mixed in. He will start working on his
new album at the conclusion of the Bauhaus tour and
hopefully will have the album out by early
1999.
Also,
it appears that the Sapphire Supper Club people
will be selling tickets for the Orlando
show on the 30th, and not the 31st, as earlier
reported. Any left over tickets will be sold on the
31st. Please note that you will be able to
purchase tickets through Ticketmaster on August 1
for the Orlando
show.
JULY
27 UPDATE We
now have pictures from the Palladium shows on
July
10
and 12!
These pictures were contributed by Gilly, whose
work some of you may be familiar with from the
David Bowie web site, Teenage
Wildlife.
There
is now a direct link to CDNow
to purchase Bauhaus cds on your left. You can also
buy other
cds
through this link. Please help support the
maintenance of this site by making your purchases
through the Resurrection Tour page link to
CDNow.
JULY
27 Several
people have told me that tickets for the
Boston
show are still available through Next ticket
agency. Also, check out some of the venues'
websites, like Harborlights,
the 9.30
Club
, the Aerial
Theatre
and a venue that I enjoyed last year,
Electric
Factory
. If there are other venues that people should be
aware of their websites, please let me
know.
Tickets
for the Rochester
show go on sale August 1.
Also,
quite a few queries have come in regarding whether
there will be an opening act for the Bauhaus tour.
I'm glad to tell everyone that there will be NO
opening act, so be prepared if the band decides to
start on time.
JULY
26 Ticketmaster
has another show listed on their site for September
1 in Rochester,
NY at The Armory, which presumably replaces the
second Detroit show. No further information is
given as to when tickets go on sale. I also checked
to see what tickets were still available online for
the US shows, and it appears that almost all the
shows listed were still available. This list
includes:
8/13
Seattle,
WA
8/14 Seattle
,WA
8/20 San
Diego,
CA
8/26 Minneapolis,
MN
8/29 Cleveland,
OH
8/31 Detroit,
MI
9/08 Philadelphia,
PA
9/10 New
York,
NY
9/11 New
York,
NY
9/14 Atlanta,
GA
9/20 New
Orleans,
LA
JULY
24 2
more dates confirmed, folks! We now
have:
9/22
Dallas,
TX - Bronco Bowl
9/24 Mesa,
AZ - Mesa Amphitheatre
Tickets
for the Dallas
show go on sale August 7, while Mesa
will go on sale August 1, along with the other
Florida and Houston
shows.
For
those of you who aren't making it to the shows,
Rolling
Stone
announced that there will be a live webcast from
the Chicago shows (yes, both of them!)
August
27th
and 28th.
Also,
the promoters for the Orlando
show will be selling very limited tickets for that
show at the Sapphire Supper Club on July 31st. The
address is 54 North Orange Avenue in Orlando.
Tickets will go on sale at 9 pm and you *must* be
18 or over. You can also register to win a pair of
tickets and a Bauhaus box set.
JULY
23 Coming
at you a little late, but gasp, gasp... Peter will
be putting out a 6 song EP called Recall
recorded in 6 days as early as end of August
according to SonicNet.
Recall is being co-produced by members of
KMFDM. Peter seems to have abandoned LA in haste
for Seattle (if you spot him, let us know and we'll
send out a squad to retrieve and deliver him to
sing to us day and night). They also report that
European dates are being scheduled, contrary to
earlier speculation that they were going to
concentrate on working on promoting/recording their
respective albums. Thanks to the Sweetest
Drop
page for picking up on the article so
quickly.
JULY
22 UPDATE Tickets
for Atlanta
go on sale this Saturday. They are priced at $29.50
amd will be available through Ticketmaster at (404)
249-6400.
JULY
22 Some
of the upcoming tour dates will be recorded and
filmed for a possible release. It looks like
Chicago and New York might the lucky
dates.
JULY
21 4
more shows confirmed!! We now have these for your
enjoyment:
9/16
Sunrise,
FL - Sunrise Musical Theatre
9/17 St.
Petersburg,
FL - Mahaffey Theatre
9/18 Orlando,
FL - Bob Carr Performing Arts Center (Ed. note:
Hey, that's my birthday!)
9/21 Houston,
TX - Aerial Theatre at Bayou Place
All
tickets go on sale August 1.
Unfortunately,
there will be no second Detroit show.... so enjoy
the one and only show in Motor
City.
Tickets
for the second DC
show go on sale later this week.
JULY
20 A
very reliable source states that there will be 8
more shows announced soon. Keep watching this
space!
JULY
19 A
fan who saw Kevin and Danny at the Creatures show
at the Palace in LA earlier this week spoke with
Kevin and gleaned several bits of information from
him. Apparently, Kevin had done the soundtrack for
"The Prom" which appeared a few years ago on the
Showtime channel. They (as in Bauhaus) also are
very surprised by the overwhelming response to the
sold out shows and this is what prompted them to do
schedule more tour dates. And last, but not least,
there is an official Bauhaus site in the works.
Also,
a Japanese fan who met the band in LA reported on
the [Cascade] list that Bauhaus plans on
touring Tokyo and Osaka in September, which would
mean the very end of the month.
JULY
18 Amusingly
enough, in the past 2 days all the major music
internet sites have received the same press release
stating that Bauhaus is announcing a North American
tour. The press release also states that that they
have no plans to record a new album, L&R are
preparing for the release of Lift in
October and Peter Murphy is recording for a new
album due out early 1999. The only addendum that I
hadn't heard before was L&R's new single will
be Rip 20 C which features remixes by
Rabbit in the Moon. No release date on it
yet.
JULY
17 UPDATE
The venue for both of the Seattle shows
(August
13
and 14)
has been changed from the Moore Theatre to the
Paramount Theatre. The Paramount is a larger venue
and therefore additional tickets are available for
purchase at 10:00 A.M. Saturday morning
(tomorrow!). Previously purchased tickets will be
honored for admission to the general admission
sections. Additional tickets to be sold will
include a limited amount of GA tickets as well as
reserved seating for the balcony.
The
New
Orleans show
on September 20 has tickets going on sale Saturday
July 25 at 10 A.M. through TicketMaster. Tickets
will be general admission by section (pit,
orchestra and balcony). The venue itself will sell
any remaining tickets on Monday the
27th.
JULY
17
Reminders:
Tickets
for the Denver
show will go on sale Monday the 20th through
Ticketchoice. The number is 1(800)517-7328.
Tickets for Minneapolis
go on sale Saturday the 18th at noon.
Tickets for Boston
go on sale Saturday the 18th at 10:00
am.
Several
people emailed me and said that they were upset
that I had posted about the Craze's show the other
day at the HAC. I put it in quotes to denote that
it may not be THE band. I had heard rumors to the
effect that it may be them peforming, so I posted
it. If there was any confusion, I apologize for it.
I must also say that this site is
unofficial, which means I post confirmed AND
unconfirmed rumors. If, in the event that it was
Bauhaus, I would have heard that I should have
posted this information, but alas, there's no
pleasing everybody. So, before getting on an
airplane (I hope no one did that), please reconfirm
information, if it still
uncertain.
JULY
16 UPDATE
3 more cities announced! 2 of my predictions
have come true so far, and more's on the
way....
August
23 at the Salt Air in Salt
Lake City
September 14 at the Tabernacle in
Atlanta
September 20 at the State Palace Theatre in
New
Orleans
Tickets for the Salt
Lake City
show goes on sale Monday July 20 at 10 am at all
SmithTix outlets. Information on other shows will
be forthcoming.
There
will be shows until September 27th and then
the tour ends October, I'm assuming, in Japan.
Still nothing about Europe though.
If
you noticed Nashville earlier, it was a mistake.
I'm still having problems from this weekend.
Hmph.
JULY
16
Contrary to speculation, The Craze of 1998 is
not the same as The Craze from 1978 (the
progenitors of Bauhaus). Last night's show at
Hollywood Athletic was not a secret show for our
favorite band, so you didn't miss anything! Turns
out that Gene Loves Jezebel cancelled out as
well.
(JULY
15 UPDATE) Just so you don't have to fork up
money for a ticket, Ultimate Band List, aka UBL is
having a ticket contest for any Bauhaus show that
they have listed. All you have to do is register
(and give them legit info or else you won't win
tickets!) Go to UBL
for more information.
Also
there is a site
that has pictures of one of the nights this
weekend. It's difficult to tell which night it is,
and the pictures aren't very high resolution, but
what the hey, check it out.
(JULY
15) Whew, the DC shows are now
confirmed. Shows as in plural: there are two shows
scheduled at the 9.30 Club, September 6 and it
looks like the 7th as well (though that's not
confirmed at the mo'). Tickets go on sale
tomorrow (July 16) at 10 am and they're $25.
This means two shows are on sale then -
Toronto and Washington DC. The
numbers to call for the DC shows are:
(703)573-SEAT (Nova)
(202)432-SEAT (Washington DC)
(410)481-SEAT (Baltimore)
1-800-551-SEAT (Outside of the Maryland/DC
area)
"The
Craze" are playing tonight at Hollywood Athletic,
but keep in mind that this may be a hoax. If this
is the real thing, well, let's just hope it is -
enjoy the show.
The
next thing I say and please keep this in mind for
all and any shows you may attend is to drink a lot
of water. It is neccessary and will keep you from
getting dehydrated. I know I'm sounding like a
nagging mother, but after my experience Friday
night and having been in the heat all day then, I
probably would have survived the show a little
better if I had more water. And gin and tonics
don't count as clear hydrating liquid,
folks.
(JULY
14) More and more updates as I write! Strange,
but Ticketmaster has added a second
Philadelphia show on September 12, the night
after the 2nd NY show. If they take it down,
I'll swear that someone is playing tricks on me
over there. There also seems to be a switch or
cancellation of dates for the DC show, as
Ticketmaster Canada has a second Toronto show
scheduled for the September 3, which also is the
same day as the DC show (Pollstar still
lists DC). A second Detroit show is still
confirmed, at least through Beggars Banquet, but no
one else seems to have information on it. It's
staying unconfirmed until I hear otherwise. Hmph.
Latest ticket information listed below:
Second
Toronto go on sale July 16 at 10 am.
San Diego go on sale this Friday at 4
pm.
Boston go on sale this Saturday at 10
am.
Hopefully
the Washington DC show will be reinstated on
another day.... and more shows will be announced.
However... a BIG however, it looks like a special
surprise for those of you still in LA and
recovering from $6 plastic cup drinks... Seems that
"The Craze" are due to play this week at our
favorite venue, Hollywood Athletic Club with old
time gothsters Gene Loves Jezebel, who,
incidentally, opened for Bauhaus way back when. If
some of you are going to the show, we are demanding
a full report. But of course.
My
favorite phrase coming up... "Last but not least,"
the
links
pages are still connected, but they're also on the
news index page. There is a link to LaLune's and
Rene Weber's page Bauhaus:
Project
Resurrection
where people can meet up in various cities for
hotel, pre- and post-show information and so
forth.
Our
first fan contributed review comes from Scott
Brown. who wrote an extremely descriptive and
amusing review of Friday
night's show
at the Palladium!
The
site will be going into a little overhaul this
weekend as we try and attempt to configure to your
exact needs, and 34D ain't one of them.
(JULY
13 UPDATE) New show announced! September
8th in
Philadelphia
at the Electric Factory. Tickets go on sale July 17
at 10 am. Tickets are available through the
Electric Factory box office or through
Ticketmaster. You can also call Electric Factory to
inundate them with calls at 215-
LOVE222.
(JULY
13) Home sweet home. As the truly Trusty
Assistant reported, I did get injured Friday night,
but let's keep the whinging down, shall we? I met
quite a few of you out there, and unfortunately
missed a ton of people. I decided to forgo leather
on a hot LA Saturday after my episode Friday night,
so if you missed me then, I'll be at the San Diego,
both San Francisco and both New York
shows.
Now
back to the program here - I'll be posting reviews
from people on this site, as well as posting links
as to where you can find reviews on other sites.
Currently, I have links for different reviews for
the Friday and Saturday shows (Just look for the
symbol).
Also,
the second Detroit show seems not to be happening.
As soon as I posted that Ticketmaster has the
second show listed, they immediately took the link
down. So, for now, it's unconfirmed, unless someone
tells me otherwise.
Bad
news for Europeans and South Americans. According
to the Beggars
Banquet site,
they report:
Unfortunately the South American dates have been
cancelled (something about the world Cup) but there
is still a possibility of dates in Japan. However,
there will NOT be any dates in Europe since this
reunion has to end in September so that Love And
Rockets can start promoting their new
album.
I
don't think things will change, as David J said in
a recent interview that Love and Rockets would be
promoting Lift when it comes out in
October.
(JULY
12) Trusty Assistant reporting...
Saturday night's show added Passion of Lovers to
the setlist, but omitted Mask and All We Ever
Wanted. Each night's setlist changes a little, and
doesn't correspond to the printed version which is
up on stage. Two songs which appear on the optional
portion of the printed setlist, but which haven't
been played yet are Spy In The Cab, Spirit and
Swing The Heartache.
(JULY 11) Trusty Assistant
reporting... Tonight's show was bristling with
energy, becoming very violent on the main floor
with pushing from all directions. Your favorite
webmistress located front and center ended up
passing out and having to be rescued by security
after only five songs. To add insult to injury, she
was kicked in the head and poked in the eye (losing
her contact lens) as security lifted her out of the
melee. Thus there is no first-hand report of the
show, so feel free to leave comments, reviews about
the show etc on the Palladium
July 10th
concert page.
Samantha
will be watching tonight's show from the safety of
a front row VIP table.
(UPDATE
JULY 10) Hollywood Athletic Club show gets off
to a late start - they took the stage at 10.15 pm,
and the setlist is listed below!
- Double
Dare
- In
the Flat Field
- God
In An Alcove
- Hollow
Hills
- Silent
Hedges
- Boys
- She's
In Parties
- Sanity
Assassin
- Kick
In The Eye
- Encore:
Bela Lugosi' Dead
Last,
but not least, your favorite webmistress (No, not
Asia Carrera!) will be at the Palladium shows
Friday and Saturday. If you see a "vertically
challenged" long haired brunette wearing something
to the effect of leather pants, t-shirt or tank top
depending on the heat that day, and passing out
flyers, just say hello. I don't bite... hard, as my
man Austin Powers would say. My trusty assistant
will be updating the site while I'm gone, so do
send in the setlists/reviews if you like.
(3rd UPDATE July 9) 2nd Detroit show added!
Someone directed me to the Ticketmaster site and it
lists September 1, again at the State Theatre. No
further information, unfortunately, on when the
tickets go on sale. I assume that they will
probably go on sale when the first show does, or on
the same day thereabouts.
(2nd UPDATE July 9) For those of you who
were wondering where the "Joint" was in Las Vegas,
it's at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (When I was
there last year, I was wondering how many Jon Bon
Jovi spandex pants can they possibly have there?).
Another update on the Cleveland show: Ticket prices
are $27.50 reserved, $22.50 general admission - go
on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. As for tonight's show
at the Hollywood Athletic, let us not forget that
this is Bauhaus' first public appearance in exactly
15 years and 4 days. If you haven't heard the final
show, it's available on a Beggars
Banquet/NEMO-distributed cd called "Rest In
Peace".
(UPDATE
July 9) Clarification on the Boston show on the
Cascade email list: the tickets aren't sold at
Harbor Lights until the DAY of the show, but they
do use the Orpheum box office. The convenience
ticket agency that is used rather than Ticketmaster
is NEXT, which can be reached by calling
617-423-NEXT.
I know that a lot of people are concerned that
Bauhaus haven't scheduled a show nearby your town,
but it looks as if it will be 5-7 more cities that
they will play in the US and Canada. I'm predicting
in my magic 8-Ball that it'll likely be Atlanta,
Philadelphia, New Orleans, Phoenix, Dallas and
Miami. Please, please, please don't take my word
for it, as I'm just making my predictions based on
geographics! As for the rest of the world (it's a
big world out there), I can only refer to what
Beggars said and that was Mexico, Brazil and
Argentina. However, someone on the Cascade list who
had a recent encounter with Peter Murphy did
recount that they might play Japan.
(NEW
July 8) KROQ (LA "alternative rock" station)
will be giving away tickets tomorrow every minute
starting at 12 noon PST for a "secret" KROQ Bauhaus
show. Could it be.... the Hollywood Athletic Club
show? It's so secret that you, me and my mother
(and she does know) seemed to have known weeks ago
that this show was going to happen. If you're
going, send that setlist in and give me a glowing
review of the show, okay? I never said I was
unbiased, did I?
( 2nd UPDATE July 8) Ticket sales for
confirmed shows are as follows (taken from various
emails):
- Las
Vegas go on sale July 11 at 2 pm, ticket prices
are $35, $32, and $27
- Boston
go on sale July 18 ; apparently Ticketmaster
isn't handling tickets for this show, so tickets
will be available at Harbor Lights or by calling
their ticket agency at 617-423-6000
.
- Cleveland
go on sale July 11 at 10 am, no further
information.
- Minneapolis
go on sale July 18, tickets prices are $28.50,
$32.50 and $45.50. ($45.50!?!)
- Detroit
will go on sale July 10 at 10 am.
- Denver
is likely to be July 11 at 1 pm.
- DC
people will probably have to wait until next
week.
I
haven't been able to find out about the San Diego
show, so if anyone has information on it, please
let me know.
(NEW July 7) Have we got more show listings
for you folks or what? Someone emailed me and I
checked out Pollstar to find out that 6 more shows
have been announced! They are as
follows:
- August
20 at Golden Hall in San Diego,
California
- August
21 at Joint in Las Vegas, Nevada
- August
24 at Mammoth Events Center in Denver,
Colorado
- August
26 at State Theatre in Minneapolis/St.Paul,
Minnesota
- August
29 at Nautica Stage in Cleveland,
Ohio
- September
3 at 9:30 Club in Washington, DC
(NEW
July 7) New show confirmed! September 5 at
Harbor Lights in Boston, Massachusetts. Tickets are
expected to go on sale this weekend.
(UPDATED
July 7) Taken from the Peter Murphy
[Cascade] e-mail list regarding the
Hollywood Athletic Club show July 9th: "A friend in
the biz informed me that there will be 200 tickets
available for sale at $50 per ticket."Ed.note:
If you're one of the lucky folks going, you'll be
mingling with 600 of Bauhaus' friends and family
(the capacity is 800). (2nd Update July
7) Okay, I did a boo-boo about Ticketmaster
not selling tickets for the Hollywood Athletic gig.
I received several emails saying that tickets were
available via Ticketmaster. If there's any left, go
get them!!
(UPDATED July 6) Two new shows confirmed!
August 31st at the State Theatre in Detroit,
Michigan and September 2nd at the Warehouse in
Toronto, Canada! Tickets for the Toronto show go on
sale Friday July 10, and they are priced at
CD$35.00. I don't have any further information on
the Detroit tickets, but if you hear about it soon,
let me know.
I've created a links
page,
so people can see other Bauhaus and related pages.
If you have a page that you'd like to see linked
via this one, please send an email to me at
samantha@etete.com
Akicita has created Bauhaus t-shirts in M-XL for
$15 and XXL for $17, plus a buck or two for
postage. To see the scans of the t-shirts,
go
here.
He's only made limited quantities and will be out
of town prior to this weekend, so order from him
relatively quickly.
Last, but not least, I'm hoping that people will be
able to take some pictures this weekend, if the
Palladium security don't notice your camera stashed
somewhere godknowswhere. Also, if you'd like to
submit reviews of the show, please send them along
to me. As for me, I'll be wilting in the heat
somewhere up front of the shows.
