Love and Rockets' Holy Fool is now available at
CDNow
for $2.49 or on vinyl for $4.99. Also, Peter
Murphy's Roll Call - Recall is available on a 12"
single as well with Indigo Eyes and Big Love of a
Tiny Fool on the b side. Unfortunately, CDNow
doesn't have it yet.
Love
and Rockets were on Loveline last night, but no one
seems exactly sure what was said by them! Their
appearance at the Virgin Megastore opening in
Orange County, CA looks as if it's going to be a
ticket giveaway on radio. The same seems to go for
the Riverside show as well. Cross your fingers, and
keep that phone on redial.
There
is also a chat transcript of the Love and Rockets
chat from some weeks ago on SonicNet
now.
That's
all the news for now and for the rest of the week,
as I'm taking an overdue holiday. Be back on Monday
with more to report...

The final Undertaker
Journals
are in! The last two entries are from the final
gigs - Lisbon
and Oporto.
Hopefully we'll see the Undertaker in the near
future sometime...
Marina
has sent in more pictures from Mexico
City,
including her close encounters of the fab four
kind. Fernando also sent in several pictures of the
Lisbon
show.
I'd
like to thank all of you for sending in photos of
the tour but just because the tour is over doesn't
mean that you can't stop sending in pictures. I
must also reiterate that I've seen a few photos
from this site used without permission on other
sites - you MUST get the photographer's
permission to use the shots. The few unscrupulous
people not taking this to heart will feel not only
my wrath, but the band's too.
Before
I get off my pedestal, a few people have expressed
concern that the shows from the tour sounded just
too good - they must have used backing tracks or a
little help from technology. I hate to ruin the
pessimists' fun, but every show was done live, no
extras were used (except for the roadies assisting
Peter during "Boys"), and nor were any Maxell tapes
abused (except by the people in the
audience).

Shockingly enough, NME
gave the London
gig a great review, which is in contrary to their
original opinion of Bauhaus. Let me just say that
back then their distaste of Bauhaus was intense, to
put it mildly. There is also a review øf the
Lisbon
show on Diario
de Noticias
by the charming Nuno, whom many of you Portuguese
fans are familiar with. Also, a Polish
site has a few quite eerie photos of the
Prague
show... well worth checking out. There is also a
review
(albeit in Polish) on the site as well.
Also,
there are two new sites worth mentioning -
Elevator
- a Love and Rockets chat/message board site on
Yahoo! as well as Roll
Call
- also Peter Murphy a chat/message board site on
located conveniently on Yahoo! You'll have to
register on Yahoo! to become a member of either
site.
In
addition to all these other goodies, Cristina has
sent in 4 pictures of the London
gigs. Gilly also sent in some German articles and
reviews which I'm trying to find a nice home for on
the site.

Well, kids, the tour has come to an end. I know
that many of you enjoyed meeting other Bauhaus
fans, travelling to the shows, queuing up for hours
on end as well as enjoying the concert(s). Many
people have asked what will happen to this site as
the tour finished - you're in for a little
surprise...More details on that
later.
As a
great closer to the tour, Franklin sent in his
pictures of the Oporto
gig - the final "Spirit" shot, I'm sure you'd agree
too, captures the feel of the gigs you've all
attended. Some great photos of the Paris
gig can also be found on this site...
really quite beautiful shots.

The one time I'm unlucky... Bauhaus played Third
Uncle as their fourth encore last night in
Lisbon!
As Pamela had mentioned in her commentary, they
practiced it in the rehearsals in England, but not
during the actual shows. Reports mention that in
the sold out 9,000 person venue the screaming fans
lit up cigarette lighters in between encores...
just you wait til Oporto
tonight - I have the feeling the audience is going
to try and outdo themselves there!
There
are three new Undertaker
Journals
- we'll be getting one more batch as the tour
finishes tonight...
Also,
the Body
and Soul
page reports that Holy Fool will be the next Love
and Rockets single and will be released November
24. The track listing is:
1.
Holy Fool (keoki's Wholesome Radio Edit) (3:46)
2. Holy Fool (funkopath Radio Edit) (3:47)
3. Holy Fool (funkopath Remix) (6:22)
4. So Alive (s-man's Deep Space Mix) (7:49)
5. Holy Fool (lp Version) (3:22)
I
finally put up a few of my shots from the
first
and second
London gigs. Let me warn you that these pictures
were taken with a digital camera, so there was
nothing I could do about the blurriness! My
"normal" pictures will be scanned some time
shortly... There are also the tour programme
pictures
for those of you who were unable to see or buy
it.
And
last but not least - on Friday, David Bowie and his
guitarist Reeves Gabrels held a live chat for
BowieNet
members and an amusing reference was made to Love
and Rockets:
Dactylus
David - Have you heard the new Love &
Rockets cd? If so, what do you think of "Bad For
You" - Sounds suspiciously like "Jump, They
Say"
David
and Reeves Daniel Ash is wearing my feather boa
guitar strap and I want it back.

All

December which are:

(Bauhaus played there earlier this year)
December 8: Charleston, SC TBA

December 12: Riverside, CA TBA
December 16: Orange County, CA (opening of the
Virgin Megastore)
December 19: Madison, WI TBA
The
full tour will start up February/March in the US.
No mention when the tour will be in
Europe.
Also,
as mentioned here before, there will be a best of
compilation of Peter Murphy's solo work due out in
June/July through Beggars Banquet.
We
have more Undertaker Journals that will be up over
the weekend, as well as more
photographs!

Quite a few site updates: The lovely Pamela, winner
of the SonicNet "Lift" contest, sent in her
descriptive commentary
of her weekend bash in London; another review from
S. Anzai, this time of the Tokyo
show, a review in German from Der Tagesspiegel on
the Berlin
show (couldn't tell you what it says though). Also,
the return of Gilly and her pictures of the
Hamburg
show, Marina's deliberate run in with the band at
the airport and at the show in Mexico
City
(just gotta love that pic of David 'eating' a rose,
Danny's "You talkin' to me?" pose and Kevin's
peechee smile with a vampirish Marina!) and last
but not least, Michael's photos of the
Paris
gig. More to come, folks!

It looks like Love and Rockets are starting up
again not even a month after Bauhaus finishes their
tour. Love and Rockets is scheduled to play
December 1 at the WBCN
Christmas Rave with a few other bands at Avalon
Ballroom in Boston, MA. Tickets went on sale last
weekend and they're $17 available at Next tickets
at (617) 423-6398.
Bauhausmusik
has its merchandise section up now - almost all the
goodies that were sold during the tour can be had
with the exception of the signed Bela Lugosi
cd.

Home again; tired, sore and slightly hungover is
not a good way to travel 11 hours back home
stateside... The London shows were great,
especially the second show
and a good way to end the tour for me. The rain set
the mood for both gigs and the area of town was
especially safe and easy to get a taxi (the
biggest lie I've told here yet). Celebrity
musicians galore - you may have heard that Gary
Numan was spotted in the audience on Saturday's
show and Debbie Harry of Blondie at Sunday's
show.
Quite
a few people have sent in photographs for various
shows - I'll be putting them up in the next few
days as soon as the Red Stripe stupor wears off. My
pictures of the London gigs will be going up as
well, so hold onto your britches!

(Trusty Assistant Reporting) Setlists for
the last three shows are now up (Manchester,
London
(1)
and London
(2)).
Samantha should be back tomorrow with reports and
more news from the front.

Sad, I know, but I'll be away for a few days. But
my Trusty Assistant will be updating the site,
while I'm lounging around here and there in
London.
See you there!

Quite a few happenings around here... We've got 4,
count 'em, 4 Undertaker
Journals
in. Stinky bus drivers, Rove and Lockets bootlegs
and more waiting for you.
I've
finally got around to putting up more pictures.
There's Matthew's pictures of himself and Peter
Murphy in New
York
, Holly Fool's in Orlando
, Jose's in Mexico
City
and Drazen's in Vienna.
Now remember people, these pictures can't be
reproduced without these folks' permission, so
don't be publishing them in your 'zine or
attempting to pass off fine art as your
own.

At last night's show in Paris,
Boy George was spotted in the audience as well as
backstage. No word if he was trying to have Bauhaus
open up for Culture Club on their second attempted
tour this year.
Also,
Love and Rockets got a good review of Lift
in this week's People Magazine, the magazine
you all secretly love to read while in the doctor's
waiting room...
The
official Love
and Rockets
site has yet another new format, this time much
easier to use and navigate. Looking forward to
more... Nothing yet on when the official Peter
Murphy site is going up though.
There
is a new link to Amazon
UK
now to your left for Dark Entries for UK and
European fans wishing to order the book.

The Pulse magazine article can also be found
online
for those of you too lazy to leave the comforts of
your own home. An interesting article which is
actually part of Pulse's dance music report. It
makes little reference to Bauhaus and mostly to
their djing careers "...and what they do best.
Mixing heady guitar atmospheres with throbbing
electronic rhythms to push the already-shifting
parameters of dance music." Whoa. Heavy
stuff.
